About Us The Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences Choir enables its members to develop poise, confidence, self-discipline, and an understanding of the artistic process through vocal performance. This high-spirited group of third through eighth grade students offers a dynamic presentation that is both positive and uplifting! Throughout the school year, the DAAS Choir enriches the cultural life of the community through performances for charitable, educational, and civic organizations.

"Superior" rating at the Michigan Charter School Arts Competition for five consecutive years.
Opening act for nationally known artists MC Hammer, Kem, Chaka Khan, and The O’Jays.
Guest performances at community events featuring Rev. Al Sharpton, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Rev. Jesse Jackson, and Miss America.
Highlighted performances have appeared on local news stations WDIV, WXYZ and a full-feature story on FOX2-Detroit.
Performs Annual Community Service Tour of Detroit-area nursing homes, homeless shelters, and soup kitchens.
